Sending tracks individually is impractical, while a cloud upload creates another stored copy and may take as long as the later download. Media-oriented sharing modes may also transform audio instead of delivering the original file. WolfP2P streams the original file bytes and supported folder paths directly between the two browsers, without a cloud-staging phase.

The no-intermediary-copy design avoids first placing the library with a cloud or file-sharing provider. Safe mode can retain recoverable progress for a large track.
Audio tags, embedded artwork, and cue information stored inside selected files travel with those unchanged bytes. Playlists, library databases, ratings, play counts, and application settings may live elsewhere or contain paths tied to the old computer, so locate and assess them separately before retiring the source library.
Before you start
The browsers need a direct network path. The current configuration gathers host candidates only, with no STUN traversal between separate private networks and no TURN file relay. Even a shared network can block the connection. Complete folder preservation and disk-backed large-file handling require a Compatible Browser, such as current Chrome, Edge, or Brave, with the required capabilities confirmed by WolfP2P's live check. Both peers must remain online while file bytes are moving. Keep both transfer tabs open until completion. Confirm that the receiver can write to the chosen destination and has enough free space for the transfer mode.
How to transfer the music library
Locate the complete audio collection
Identify the folder containing the tracks and album artwork, then separately locate any playlists or library database the music application stores elsewhere.
Check organization and portability
Keep artist and album folders intact. Note playlists or databases that contain absolute paths and may need repair or re-import on the new computer.
Connect the library destination
Create a tunnel on the computer holding the library and privately invite the intended receiver.
Review the collection and destination
The receiver checks the offered paths and total size, selects a destination with enough space, and accepts.
If the browser refuses Documents or reports system files, create a subfolder inside Documents and select that instead. See folder permissions.
Transfer and sample the library
Keep both computers online, reuse verified progress when necessary, and play representative formats while checking tags and artwork at the destination.
One browser tab represents one tunnel. Reloading or browser-restoring the same tab can resume its session, but genuinely closing the tab ends that session.
WolfP2P preserves file bytes and supported relative paths, but not the source file's modification date and time. A transferred file receives the current date and time when it is written at the destination.
Questions and answers
Does WolfP2P recompress the music?
No. It transfers the selected audio file bytes without recompression, transcoding, or normalization.
Are artist and album folders preserved?
Compatible Browsers, such as Chrome, Edge, or Brave preserve their nested relative paths at the destination. Tags embedded in the audio files remain part of the unchanged file bytes, but source filesystem modification dates are not preserved.
Are playlists and music-app libraries migrated?
WolfP2P can transfer playlist or database files you select, but it does not import them into a music application or repair references tied to the old computer. If the library must remain continuously aligned on several computers, compare a one-time transfer with folder synchronization.
Can the transfer continue after a disruption?
Safe mode supports durable checkpoint recovery for large files on compatible browsers. Completed matching files can also be skipped in a new transfer.
