WolfP2P transfers the selected media file bytes unchanged. It does not compress, resize, transcode, normalize, or otherwise transform your photos, videos, or audio files before delivery.

What original quality means

The file selected by the sender is the file transferred to the receiver. WolfP2P does not create a smaller image, lower-bitrate video, converted audio track, preview copy, or platform-optimized version.

This is more precise than saying WolfP2P applies “lossless compression”: WolfP2P does not encode the media at all. It transfers the original file bytes.

Original bytes do not mean original file dates

The media bytes remain unchanged, but filesystem metadata is separate from file contents. WolfP2P does not preserve the source file's modification date and time. A transferred file receives the current date and time when it is written at the destination.

For photographs and videos, metadata stored inside the file—such as EXIF fields that are part of the transferred bytes—remains in the file. Do not rely on the destination filesystem's Date modified value to reconstruct the original chronology.

When this matters

Original files matter when transferring footage for editing, high-resolution photographs, family archives, audio libraries, course recordings, or deliverables that will be processed again. Avoiding an additional lossy conversion preserves the source you intended to send.

Some email and messaging services may resize or compress media depending on the service, application, and sharing mode. Some also provide a separate file or document mode that preserves the original. Check the chosen service's behavior when exact file preservation matters.

File size is not reduced

Because WolfP2P does not shrink the media, the full original file must cross the connection and fit at the destination. Transfer time therefore depends on the file size and the peers' effective connection speed.
