Transfer customer folders with recoverable progress—for computer technicians
For:Advanced users and digital professionals
Assumes familiarity with files, browsers, and common computer workflows.Moving a customer's profile, photo collection, project directory, or recovered files can involve thousands of items arranged in folders. Uploading that material to cloud storage creates another copy to manage, while removable media requires a physical handoff and enough temporary capacity. WolfP2P streams the selected collection to the customer's chosen destination and can reuse verified progress on compatible browsers without implying that the technician's source is deleted.
Why WolfP2P fits
For a technician-assisted transfer, Safe mode can retain recoverable progress for a large customer file, while a new tunnel can verify and skip completed files using SHA-256 evidence. A Compatible Browser preserves the customer's nested folders.
Customer data travels over an encrypted direct transfer channel without being staged on WolfP2P's server. There is also no transfer application or network share to configure.
Agree on the selected folders and destination with the customer before starting. Keep an independent source or backup until the customer has checked representative documents, photographs, and project files on the new computer. A completed byte transfer does not certify that an application can open every file or that every item needed for a full migration was selected.
Before you start
The browsers need a direct network path. The current configuration gathers host candidates only, with no STUN traversal between separate private networks and no TURN file relay. Even a shared network can block the connection. Complete folder preservation and disk-backed large-file handling require a Compatible Browser, such as current Chrome, Edge, or Brave, with the required capabilities confirmed by WolfP2P's live check. Both peers must remain online while file bytes are moving. Keep both transfer tabs open until completion. Confirm that the receiver can write to the chosen destination and has enough free space for the transfer mode.
How to transfer the customer folders
Record the customer's authorization
Agree on the source folders, excluded material, destination, and verification responsibility before accessing or moving customer data.
Prepare both computers
Keep the source intact, confirm sufficient destination space, and use compatible browsers for preserved folders and disk-backed recovery.
Connect the supervised session
Create a tunnel, privately share the invitation with the other attended computer, and confirm the correct endpoints.
Let the customer or technician review
Select only the agreed folders. The receiving side reviews paths, count, size, and destination before accepting.
If the browser refuses Documents or reports system files, create a subfolder inside Documents and select that instead. See folder permissions.
Transfer, recover, and hand back
Use verified recovery when needed, inspect representative customer files at the destination, and complete the technician's own exception and handback record.
One browser tab represents one tunnel. Reloading or browser-restoring the same tab can resume its session, but genuinely closing the tab ends that session.
WolfP2P preserves file bytes and supported relative paths, but not the source file's modification date and time. A transferred file receives the current date and time when it is written at the destination.
Questions and answers
Does WolfP2P inspect customer files?
WolfP2P's server never receives the file bytes. It still coordinates the connection, so read the Security boundary and separate Privacy Notice before handling sensitive data.
Can a technician run the transfer unattended?
No. WolfP2P is an interactive transfer: the receiver reviews and accepts the offer, and both computers must remain online.
What happens after an interruption?
In Safe mode on compatible browsers, a large file can resume from a verified durable destination checkpoint. A new tunnel can also skip completed files after SHA-256 content verification.
Is this a backup or disk-cloning tool?
No. WolfP2P transfers selected files and folders; it does not clone applications, operating-system settings, permissions, or a complete disk image automatically.
What should the technician record?
Use the records required by the technician's own service process: customer authorization, the agreed source and destination, exceptions, and the customer's verification. WolfP2P's local transfer report is useful evidence of its transfer but is not a complete chain-of-custody, compliance, or service record.
