No technical knowledge required.WolfP2P streams through the same compatible-browser workflow between computers on the same local network or farther apart. When WebRTC selects a local path, file traffic stays on that network instead of making an internet round trip; online coordination is still required. WolfP2P is not limited to physical proximity or one device ecosystem, can transfer complete folders, and supports verified recovery on compatible browsers. AirDrop and Quick Share are designed for nearby devices in their supported ecosystems.
The current connection configuration uses host candidates only, with no STUN traversal between separate private networks and no TURN relay. A shared or otherwise directly reachable network can work, subject to browser and network policy; remote reachability is not guaranteed.
When two computers share a network and their browsers establish a local WebRTC connection, WolfP2P sends the file traffic over that Wi-Fi or Ethernet network instead of taking an internet round trip. WolfP2P still needs its online service to coordinate the connection.

Which approach fits?
Choose WolfP2P when
The computers share a local network, but a browser-based workflow fits better than an ecosystem-specific sharing tool. You want the same workflow for local and remote transfers. Complete folders or recoverable progress matter. The computers are remote and both people can participate live. Compatible browsers provide the required file and destination capabilities.
Choose nearby sharing when
Supported devices are physically together. Offline operation or operating-system share integration matters.
Important trade-off
Nearby tools depend on platform compatibility, proximity, visibility settings, and radios such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. They are often the simplest choice for supported devices that are together, particularly when offline operation or operating-system integration matters.
WolfP2P's advantage is not that nearby tools take an internet round trip: they commonly use local connectivity too. WolfP2P combines an available local browser-to-browser path with a workflow that is not limited to physical proximity or one device ecosystem. It still requires both browsers online and a direct WebRTC path. Guest-network isolation, firewalls, VPNs, or browser policies can prevent a local connection, so sharing the same Wi-Fi name does not guarantee that the selected path will be local.
