Direct file transfer versus folder synchronization

For:Advanced users and digital professionalsAssumes familiarity with files, browsers, and common computer workflows.

WolfP2P streams one deliberate, direct transfer set without installing a continuing folder watcher or defining future conflict and deletion rules. It transfers the selected bytes unchanged and can reuse verified destination progress. Synchronization software is designed to compare locations repeatedly and keep processing later changes.

The current connection configuration uses host candidates only, with no STUN traversal between separate private networks and no TURN relay. A shared or otherwise directly reachable network can work, subject to browser and network policy; remote reachability is not guaranteed.

Which approach fits?

Choose WolfP2P when

  • The task is a deliberate one-way migration or handoff.
  • You want no continuing watcher, conflict policy, or future deletion propagation after delivery.
  • Verified destination reuse matters during the one pass.
  • The folders do not need an ongoing relationship afterward.

Choose synchronization software when

  • Later changes must propagate.
  • Conflicts, deletions, or scheduled jobs need continuing rules.

Important trade-off

WolfP2P's one-way behavior can resemble synchronization because it can reuse verified destination files. Relative path and byte size identify candidates; SHA-256 content evidence authorizes a completed-file match. WolfP2P does not monitor either folder after completion, propagate deletions, or detect future changes.
