Send a large video without compression

A large video may exceed an email attachment limit, take a long time to stage in cloud storage, or lose quality when shared through a media mode that compresses or resizes it. Personal footage and unreleased client work may also be files you do not want stored by another provider. WolfP2P streams the original file bytes as they are, without waiting for a complete upload or applying a media transformation.

Why WolfP2P fits

WolfP2P transfers the original video file bytes without compression, transcoding, or resizing. The receiver gets the selected file rather than a service-optimized media version.

The video travels over an encrypted direct transfer channel without another copy being stored by WolfP2P's server. For a very large video, Safe mode can retain recoverable progress.

This transfers the original file rather than creating a viewing page. That distinction matters for 4K or 8K footage, camera originals, masters, and client deliverables that must be edited, archived, or inspected at their source resolution and bitrate.

Before you start

  • The browsers need a direct network path. The current configuration gathers host candidates only, with no STUN traversal between separate private networks and no TURN file relay. Even a shared network can block the connection.
  • Both peers must remain online while file bytes are moving.
  • Complete folder preservation and disk-backed large-file handling require a Compatible Browser, such as current Chrome, Edge, or Brave, with the required capabilities confirmed by WolfP2P's live check.
  • Keep both transfer tabs open until completion.
  • Confirm that the receiver can write to the chosen destination and has enough free space for the transfer mode.

How to send the video

  1. Identify the deliverable

    Choose the original file, master, or camera export the receiver actually needs—not a low-resolution preview or an accidental duplicate.

  2. Check destination space and transfer mode

    Tell the receiver the approximate size. On compatible browsers, choose Safe mode when recoverable checkpoints matter or Quick mode when lower temporary-space use matters more.

  3. Create the private connection

    Open a tunnel on the computer containing the video and privately share the invitation link or six-character code.

  4. Offer the original video

    After confirming the receiver, select the video. The receiver reviews its name and size, chooses a destination, and accepts.

    If the browser refuses Documents or reports system files, create a subfolder inside Documents and select that instead. See folder permissions.

  5. Keep the live transfer active

    Keep both computers online and awake until completion, then have the receiver inspect the downloaded file rather than judging a separate service preview.

One browser tab represents one tunnel. Reloading or browser-restoring the same tab can resume its session, but genuinely closing the tab ends that session.

Mid-file checkpoint resume requires the receiver to use Safe mode. Safe mode may need about twice the file's size in free disk space, and an interruption can require retransferring up to approximately 256 MB of the current large file.

Quick mode uses about the file's own size in free disk space and avoids checkpoint-copy overhead, but an interrupted current file restarts from its beginning.

A restrictive network may prevent a direct WebRTC connection. WolfP2P does not fall back to relaying file bytes through its server.

WolfP2P preserves file bytes and supported relative paths, but not the source file's modification date and time. A transferred file receives the current date and time when it is written at the destination.

WolfP2P does not create a streaming page or a link for later download. Use another method for asynchronous, multi-recipient, or hosted delivery. Compare direct video delivery with messaging apps when conversation history or later retrieval matters.

Does WolfP2P reduce the video quality?

No. It transfers the selected file bytes without recompressing, transcoding, or resizing the video.

Does WolfP2P upload or store the video?

No. WolfP2P's server helps the browsers connect but does not receive, store, or relay the video bytes.

Can an interrupted large video continue?

Safe mode can resume from a durable checkpoint on a compatible receiving browser. Quick mode restarts the interrupted current file.

Can the receiver watch or download it later?

No. WolfP2P is a live transfer, not video hosting. Both computers must remain online until the transfer finishes.

Is this a video-review or approval service?

No. WolfP2P delivers the file but does not add streaming previews, frame comments, approvals, or version management. Use a review platform when those collaboration features matter.
